Would having kids in a daycare get involved in creating a scrapbook be a good idea?

I work at a daycare/preschool (ages 2-12) with 2, 3 and 4 yr. old classes and the school age kids are there before and/or after school. Most of the kids are artsy and enjoy coloring and drawing and I’m always trying to find different projects for them to do and I’m thinking of starting a scrapbook for them to help create, Having them each make an “about me” page and maybe bring in a photo, and then make a few pages however they want. I don’t know if this would be a good idea, I’m not sure they’d be that interested, and I’m worried they might fight over the book. What do you think?
